I just purchased a 2013 GT500 drive train with less than 1000 miles. Although I have built 4 roadsters in the past, not recently, I'm wondering about what issues I might encounter dropping this drivetrain into a new roadster. This is the 5.8 liter supercharged engine, T56 transmission and solid rear axle. Anyone done this?

The T56 doesn't play nice with the solid rear axle due to it's length which results in an extremely short driveshaft. That axle will be too wide and also be lacking the proper mounts for the lower control arms. You could eliminate both issues by going to IRS.

Thanks Jeff. That's the kind of info I want. Trying to decide whether to use this drivetrain in a new roadster or go with something more conventional and just part out the pieces. It only has 940 miles on the parts but have been sitting out of the car since 2015. Curious about hood clearance over the supercharger and mounting the intercooler for the supercharger.

You will most likely need to have headers built, Use a T56 magnum trans. Little iffy is the blower will clear the hood but it should. A high clearance oil pan may be an issue.

Gordon : Is there a difference between the T56 that I have and a T56 Magnum transmission?

The magnum is 4-6" shorter

If supercharger - hood clearance is an issue, how about adding a hood scoop like the ones Shelby used on the roadsters he built for Bill Cosby and himself? :D

Great score on the engine and drive line. The engine is a great package. The rear axle has a Torsen carrier and I think 3.31 gears. I would think the engine will fit. I would swap the trans to something shorter. You should not have any trouble in selling off the trans and rear.
Headers might be the same as the 4.6 or 5.4. Yours is 5.8, same as the 5.4, less cyl liners, increasing the bore.
Wonder if there is a plug and play harness available for the swap. Keep us updated on your choices.
