Hello everyon
I started the body work and the rear spoiler doesn't fit very well. One side is tight to the body and the other side has a gap. If I slide it the other way its the opposite side with the gap, almost like it's too wide for the body. IS this normal?
Factory five said to bolt it down and the gap will be taken up. I am afraid to try that as it's rigid. I have included the a photo.

Thanks everyone.

I just fitted one yesterday and I think you may have it turned around (i.e. back to front).

Jeff, I tried both and if I flip it around it just doesn't fit the body at all. How well did yours fit?

This is how my fit during the bodywork stage. Best picture I could find. I don't recall how much, but the bolts did pull it into place some. I tend to agree with Factory Five. That should tighten down. Would be pretty obvious it were backwards. The spoiler has a definite tip towards the back. Some guys cut them in and make them permanent. It's a good look. But I was running out of time (and patience...) at that point. Lots of pictures of the finished installation in my build thread and gallery.

Hope that's the one I know about. Have had multiple contacts with another Indiana builder and I know he was waiting for his turn in your line. If so, he should be happy. ;)

Paul, yours fits perfect. What did you use for bolts and did you put nuts on the backside?
Maybe I should see if it will pull it down by using fasteners.

8-32 SS button heads. Yes, I used washers and nuts on the inside. Have to be done before the inside rear hatch wall is installed. Also helps to have the rear hatch wall out of the way when putting in the rear lights. Although you can reach up from underneath. Sort of.

2 other options. On mine I had the body shop cut the flange off and glass it in for a clean look. Or some others have cut a slot in the body and installed it from underneath and glassed it in.
what look do you want?

David, never thought about cutting out the body, interesting approach. I am going for the original look so will bolt it on.
Probably going to put a slice where the mounting flange meets the spoiler so I can pull it to the body and reglass. Should work well. Thanks for the ideas.
