OK so I got my front fenders nice and sturdy. By doing 2 things bolting the fender thru to the rad support and adding a 1/2” SS tube with a 5/16” all thread thru the center in the engine bay.

Now how do I make the rear fenders stop flapping. I am thinking I may run a 1” x 1” sq tube under the gas tank out to the box sides then bolt a brace from there the the outside of the rear fender. What you would see from the outside is a chrome carriage bolt head on the rear fender on the outside.

That would be a big improvement. If you want to avoid having a bolt head on the outside of the fender, you can bond a Weld Mount stud on the inside of the rear fender. This is a solid anchor to bolt to your brace to without drilling through the fender.

Granted....I have never seen the fenders on a 35.....

When we raced IMCA Modifieds….we made rear fender struts out of a sewer snake. It is basically a rigid, flexible spring. Cut to length and weld a piece of flat bar to each end. If you got hit or bumped...the sewer snake would flex....and then push the panel back out to where it was originally.

You could incorporate this to what Sbda4 suggested.

thanks guys. the 1" tubing under the tank from side to side will work. 2 more things it will do
1-allow me to support the roll pan

2-Give me a support to hang exhaust tubes from
