Hi all,
I am mocking up my bellhousing and getting ready for the Tremec to arrive later in July…hopefully. I want to show some pictures and was hoping I could get some information and insight before I pull out the grinder. I wanted to align the bellhousing to see if I need offset dowel pins or not.
Here is what is have.
2015 Ford Coyote
Ford performance M-6375-M50 flywheel
M-6392-M46 bellhousing
149285
Here they are.
The bellhousing bolts up perfectly to the coyote with out the flywheel in place. When I try to bolt on the bell it hits the lower half of the flywheel and will not seat.
149286
I took off the flywheel and then put the bellhousing in place and marked with blue marker where the edge of the bellhousing starts. I then took off the bellhousing and confirmed the clearance issues I am experiencing.
149287 see the blue marker.
I have confirmed I have the correct bell with LMR. Could I have the wrong size flywheel? It was the lightweight Ford performance model ordered through Jeggs. It is about 13.25 inches in diameter on the machined surface. It is bigger if you include the ring gear around it.
I am thinking I need to clearance the bellhousing to make it work. I would grind off material based on the blue line I drew earlier and a careful eye. Ford performance says some of the bellhousings will need to be modified slightly…it figures that this might be one of those “some models”.
Any thoughts my compadres?
