As known, the kit supplied scoop is a bit flimsy.

I measured a slight left/right height difference at the entry.

Seems a little racked.

Any proven tricks to adjust and even to better support the center span of the opening?

Any/all tricks accepted.

Thanks !!

What are your concerns??
Mine is bolted around the perimeter on about a 2-1/2" spacing, and it doesn't move/flutter at 80MPH+...
(Only you will know it's a little off-kilter)

As Fixit said once it’s bolted to the hood the flimsy goes away (unless you intend to stand on it!). If you want to talk “off kilter” you need to check out one of the fiberglass scoops that came with the early Mk4’s :(

And John, yours is on 2 3/8” centers ;)

Thanks both.

I've been working to align and fit everything on this build.

So I have to live with the thing that sits on the top of the car visible to all is going to be a bit off kilter ?

This will drive me nuts :p

Located carefully and paint stripes all matched up there's nothing off kilter about it. This is the plastic scoop on #8674. Nothing there to drive anyone crazy. :o

I suppose you're right Paul (looks good BTW).

The DS is sitting up about an 1/8" higher than the PS, but only held in by a couple of clecos.

I think I can fuss with it a bit more to even it out. Just didn't know if there were any tricks I needed to know about.

Thanks

Well, the first trick you need to know is that the hood is not centered on the body so if you center the scoop on the hood it too will be off center—-and probably drive you nuts ;) If you haven’t fitted and gapped the hood and established a front to rear centerline don’t try to position the scoop.
