Hi Folks been gone awhile but finally getting around to replacing my cracked windshield from a kicked up rock heading to 2019 LCS. Yeh I know, you've waited 2 years to replace this? I have been having too much fun driving it and the crack was low on the passenger side so the replacement windshield has been sitting in the box on the shelf for about a year and a half.
I pulled the windshield off today and removed the cracked glass from the frame. I put the new frame seal around the new glass. Now attempting to get the glass into the frame is a bit of a challenge. I have tried using Windex to help lube the seal to get it to slide into the frame but is still being a real tight fit. Before I go and do something stupid(read expensive) and break this new glass I figured I would pose the question here to see if there is a trick to this?

The new gasket should have self-adhesive and stretch and stick around the perimeter of the glass. Then lube to get into the frame and and the corner brackets back into place. I use WD-40. Liberally. See if that helps.

Or silicone spray or SilGlide silicone grease.

I attempted it again using WD40 and it made it slippery and got a little further with it, but it just does not want to fit into the frame all the way around the top. I will get pics later at lunch.

I always used WD40 in the past but the last time I installed some glass (also works great on tight radiator hose connections) was Simple Green. Plus it rinses right off when your done. It does take some significant effort to get the seal and glass into the frame and tight where it needs to ride. Good luck.
