'Simply Stunning' is my favorite quote so far... I had no idea how people would react to the car. I've owned Corvettes for over 35 years and never had as many people wave, give thumbs up, ask questions at every stop light, just amazing!

This is my first post but have been lurking and researching my build for the past year. So, I wanted to give a big THANK YOU to all the members who post ideas and help everybody with their builds. This community is such a valuable resource for everyone.

This is the first car I built from scratch. I have been involved with cars and motorcycles my whole life. I started with 'motocross bicycles' in the mid 70's (opening scenes in On Any Sunday). Got my first motorcycle a 75 Honda Elsinore CR 125, then raced Karts in the late 80's, moved to RX7's in the SCCA, then had kids and sold everything, haha. Got back into Motorcycles after the kids and have been riding about 10k miles per year since. I mainly ride dirt bikes and have logged thousands of miles in Baja - my favorite place in the world. I have always loved the look of Cobras and finally decided to sell my Corvette and build a Cobra.

Built a new garage, bought a lift, and then a FFR MK IV. I started the build 3-2020 and completed it last Friday. Got the registration started on Tuesday and have put about 150 miles on her so far. WOW - how much fun is this! Love the car and am very happy how it turned out.

That is absolutely beautiful. You did one hell of a job. If you start towards Columbus, OH soon, you could attend the London Cobra Show with the rest of us and we can drool on the car in person.

Beautiful, nice time line on the build. You might consider some sun visors. They are not necessarily for the sun.
Makes the air flow over the cab and your face much more comfortable, especially if you wear a cap.

Wow first effort, imagine what you could do with a little experience! Seriously beautiful car.

What are your seats, I like the fit of those?

Wow. Looks fantastic! Awesome job!

It’s funny. Some people have 200 posts and they’re working on the front spindles, and others, have ONE post, right at completion!

Yeah, I don't post much online on any site, it hasn't been my thing. Maybe I can help some people on this site going forward.

I have a set of sun visors that haven't been installed yet, but was thinking the same thing, it would help with the buffeting and losing my hat!

The seats are Cobra Clubman and they fit nicely in the car. I used the Breeze seat mounts and wanted to get more side support and some head support since I'll be auto crossing and doing some track days with the car.

Thank you for sharing your accomplishment. It's very encouraging to those of us still in the dream/planning stage.

Very nice work! That is a stunning piece of machinery.

Nice!! Where'd you get the seats? What are they charging, if you don't mind sharing? My old Street Performers have seen better days...

I got the seats from Sube Sports in Huntington Beach CA and they were $399 each and fit perfectly in the car without any mods. I used the Breeze seat mounts which he makes specifically for this seat - easy mounting, has 4 different seat positions, and reclines the seat. I wanted to get more side support, some head restraint, and cloth seats as I don't like leather or vinyl in a convertible because it gets too hot. The only thing I don't like about the seats are the big white 'Cobra' emblems sewn into the headrest area. I'm thinking about a way to dye them black so they are less obvious. I'm one of those guys that removes all the stickers and emblems from everything possible.

Congrats Walt ! There is a "Kleiner trick" to mounting the visors so you don't break the WS. If you are not already aware of it give me a call.....It's BRILLIANT !...da bat

Thanks Jeff... I'll call you before I install the visors.

Also, just an fyi - I have some FFR parts I didn't use in my build for sale - see the Parts for Sale section.

I have the same seats(which I love) but have a bottle of black dye for the white lettering. Just haven’t gotten to it yet!

Absolutely stunning, with a perfect stance. Can you share the body/stripe exact paint colors?

WaltR

The colors are - Lexus Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 and BMW Titan Silver stripes.

I'm still waiting for my shipment of paint protection film from https://www.autotrimdesign.net/Factory_Five_InvisiGARD_Paint_Protection.asp. After I install the film, I'll give her the first coat of wax. I think it will make the paint pop a little more.
