I have Hallibrand 17 X 9 for the front and 17 X 10.5 for the rear ordered for my 35 Truck to be delivered in October. What tire size do you recomend? If possible I would like to find redline tires, as the red will match my red pinstripe.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris, I would check the manual for tire size. If your using running boards for sure check the manual first cause they can only handle so much tire. I’m running 18” wheels on my truck but that’s open wheel. Good luck. Rob

Thanks Rob, but no help in the manual, it only adresses 18 X 8 and I have ordered Hilibrand 17 X 10.5 for the rear and will use the rear fenders ONLY from the full fender running board kit. Mike the sales rep afirms the 17 X 10.5 wheels will fit. But what tire will work? Only dealing with the rear here and FFR rear fenders (NOT bile fenders).

Thanks,

Chris

Maybe a better question is what width tires will the rear fenders acomodate?

If you use this website:

http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

You can change the recommended tyre sizes and wheels from the manual to suit your wheel.

Chris,

The 17x10.5s Halibrands will not fit in the rear with that deep backspace they have. The 10.5 width is also a little wide for the tire sizes that fit under the fenders. The optimum size would be a 17x9 with a 5.5 backspace and the 17x9 Halibrands with their 6 inch backspace will fit as well but would look nicer in the wheel well with 1/2 inch spacers.

Desicions, desicions.....

Will the '33 Hot Rod bike fenders (all 4) fit on the '35 truck?

Most likely yes. I am not definite as I have not built one, but the rear fenders bolt on the same as the hot rod and the front of the truck is the same as the hot rod, so the mounting brackets and fenders should work the same
