My roadster had the tall skinny black powder coated FFR roll bar on it, and I just didn't care for the look of it. So, about a month ago I had Breeze send me one of their kits.
Interestingly, after welding the rear down bar at the proper angle to the U shaped tube, the heat caused the open ends of the "hoop" to close about 5/8ths of an inch. Now the hoop would not drop down onto the vertical frame studs. I used a floor jack in between the hoop legs to open them back up again.
Then I took it to a chrome shop. I asked the shop owner if he offered smelling salts with his quotes :) I guess chrome is expensive everywhere these days.
I had to open up the holes on the body for the larger tubes, and Mike Everson supplied the new surrounds which worked great.
I'm very pleased with the results:
148775
148776
