Hi, I am AROCK a former drag racer. I am waiting on my mark iv complete kit due in August. I would like to build my body and chassis bucks while I wait on my kit. Does anyone have the plans for those items so I can have an early start on preparing for the the arrival of my kit. I would greatly appreciate and help concerning plans for those items.

Thanks in advance AROCK.

Hey AROCK,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the Mk4 kit!

For the chassis dolly, I built a version of this:

https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?24433-Frame-Dolly-and-Body-Buck-Plans-for-the-FFR-MkIV-Roadster

For the body buck, I used these images, and used a projector to project them onto the plywood and traced out the outline to cut them (check out my build thread for details).

AROCK. I just saw your post I'm in North Stafford off of Garrisonville Rd and I have a Mk4 currently at Whitby's in Greensboro for body and paint. There is another owner/builder 5 mins. away from me but unfortunately his is at Whitby's also for accident repair when he was rearended about 2 months ago. There is another owner/ builder who lives off of Rt17 west of 95. Good to know a soon to be builder is in the area.

jrcuz,

Glad to hear there are fellow Mk 4 builders in my area. I live in Stafford off of Kellogg Mill at Able lake. As a hobby I built and drag raced cars for years. I also built a Contemporary Cobra kit with a Homer and Moody 427 tunnel port in 1981. I loved that car and knew I would eventually have to build another.
I am glad to know that there are other car nuts in my area. please stay in touch.

AROCK. I will stay in touch. I don't know what to do with my spare time now that my car is in for body/paint. Do you kneed a copy of the build manual? I can loan you an older copy I got from the build school.

Hi AROCK, did you get your body buck and chassis dolly built? If you will need an engine hoist I do have a 1 1/2 ton HF one that worked fine dropping in my 347. We did it without the radiator installed and it went well. I have both an engine lift plate which we used and an adjustable load leveler. Also if you will need an extra hand when your delivery day comes let me know I'd be glad to help. My ph# 540-659-4645.

jrcuz,

Yes I did get the chassis and body buck built. I appreciate the offer for the lift but I have one , Thanks anyway .
What I will need is any knowledge you may have to help me through the build process for the FFR kit.
I will be getting in touch with you soon. for a conversation concerning your build.

Thanks,
