Plan on changing out the stock FFR low back seats to high back for safety reasons, which seems simple enough - wrong. However, I am puzzled on how to get them out. The driver's seat only has the two front bolts showing from underneath the car, whereas the passenger seat doesn't have any. On the topside, and due to their "mounted on the floor" nature, I don't see any attaching hardware, so I tried to lift up the seat bottom thinking that's how you do it to access the bolts and it won't budge on either side. Am I missing something?
Tried to do a search on seat removal and it didn't come up with anything. As always, thanks for your help. :)

The seats on a MK1 are bolted either through the floor or one of the square tubes. The seat bottom lifts from the rear to access the bolts. Should lift right up but after all these years it might be rusted/stuck to the bottom pan of the seat. Could be someone tapped bolts into the tubes and its just not visible until you tip the seat bottom forward.

Thanks - good point about rust - car was back east it's whole life before ending up in Fabulous Las Vegas so that might be it. I'll give the seat bottoms an extra good tug!

You were able to lift up the seat cushion correct? The Mk1 seats have a fiberglass bottom and the bolts should be seen there. My velcro after 20 years was more like glue when lifting the hinged cushion up.

Yes - it took quite a bit of effort - almost thought I'd rip the seat right out of the car. Never thought that velcro could of been that strong.
