When I got my Vintage Air heater kit it was missing defroster vent louvers. They were on my POL. FFR told me I was getting their new ones. Well they arrived, sort of. I only received one (assuming that was an oversight) but even so I’m not sure what to do with them. They need to be sealed internally I would think and not sure how well the would fit on the body. I don’t have a strong opinion and the defroster option isn’t the most commonly used feature, but I thought I would share

if you're really wanting defrost, consider the plenum from north racecars. it gets glassed to the bottom of your body and allows you to cut your vent holes wherever you want. i'm not doing defrost but hear that the PS one is hard to get the vent tubing to esp if you have a heater and glovebox.
oh, and i have some unused older style vintage air defrost louvers i'm not using if you want them.

I've never seen that defroster plenum before? It looks like it's made for something else..
The ones that came with my Vintage heater were black plastic, Looked similar to these type.

That being said, I ended up installing round, ball type defrost vents, which can be shut off. This allows all the heat to flow down into the footbox vents, if desired. They didn't need a plenum, the hose attached directly to the base of them.

I did not know that existed. Thank you for the tip. That solves a LOT of potential headaches. I think I might order one

My kit came with one of those. Now that I'm thinking about it, it might make sense. This new design is probably for getting over the heater? Maybe that's why I only got one.
