Getting ready to work on the front end of my new Coupe build and have a question which I think I know the answer to but want to verify. As seen in the photos attached I have the shock pieces out and (per assembly manual for standard Koni) I have assembled the top hat with snap ring, then the spring which seats against the delring washer then finally the spring seat. The second ring (indicated by my finger) I assume acts as a locking ring (based on Paul's nice build pics of the Roadster and Coupe) for the lower spring seat? Should the shoulder of the locking ring be up against the bottom of the spring seat or the flat side of the locking ring? It looks like from Paul's pics that the shoulder of the locking ring butts up against the bottom of the spring seat.
Also, my kit came with 350 lb springs (rear) and 400 lb and 500 lb springs. The manual says to use the 500's but just want to verify not to use the 400's.
Thanks all!

The pictures are correct. That second ring is a locking ring (versus the set screw most don't use on the red Koni's) and threads on with the ridge against the spring seat. My IRS Coupe came with 500# springs for the front and 400# for the rear. You should use the same for the front. Don't know if your build is IRS so could be different for the rear.

Thanks Paul. Yes, I’m doing the IRS setup as well so I’ll put the 400’s back there.
