Hello Folks!

Just about ready to place an order for a kit and thought I’d introduce myself. Looking forward to meeting others!

I’m scratch building a similar car, a BMW 507, so I’m planning on building the Roadster right along side of it. Should be fun!

Cheers and more to come,

Congratulations and welcome. Tell us about the 507. Kit or did you mold that body yourself?

Hi Steve,

It’s my own creation. I took a 1/18th scale model, had it 3D scanned to create a body buck made from MDF with 10” stations about the lateral and longitudinal axis. Filled that in with foam, sculpted, then filler and primer. I did this since I thought I wanted to make a replica fiberglass body, but since decided I will be hand forming the body out of aluminum. Daunting, but a fun project!

Meanwhile, I plan on building the Roadster kit along side since it’ll be done way before the 507 is since I’ll be building the chassis and basically everything else from scratch. No kits of these things, and nothing available aftermarket sans a few minor parts.

I didn’t see on their site how long it’s taking for kits to be completed and have some other questions I emailed them that I’m waiting on answers to before ordering. Hopefully later today I’ll hear something abs get the order in.

Nice meeting you!

Cheers
Dave

PS: I might have already posted an intro a couple months back but forgot! Oh well…here I am again!;)

…aaaand just ordered the base MK4 Roadster! Woohoo!!

But I’m curious. After I clicked “submit”, no verification email, no summary of what options I ordered. Does someone call me later to verify the order and charge the credit card?

Cheers,
Dave

Dave you should receive a congratulatory email, check your spam. A phone call will follow probably next week. If not, call them, and congrats!

Thanks Bil!

No email, so I’ll confirm with them my options when they call. I’ll keep you all posted. Looks like they’re taking orders for deliveries in November. Plenty of time to get all the rest of the parts rounded up!

Cheers

I didn't get an e-mail either but.....a phone call will follow pretty quick to confirm your order (and e-mail your invoice). After that you'll get a nice "get ready to build" brochure and a copy of your order sheet.

I got a phone call the next day and email followed. You'll then get hard copy of your order and a welcome letter in the mail. I think they are swamped and/or understaffed currently. They were very responsive via email in the weeks up to my order on May 5th. Since then no responses to emails.

Ok, great. I figured with placing the order Friday afternoon it would be Monday or Tuesday until I heard something but sort of thought there would be an immediate email.

No worries! I’m excited! Really looking forward to it. I’ll post up my options and build plan too and can’t wait to start a build thread.

Cheers

Just got the call and email with congratulatory package to arrive soon! Plenty of time to hunt for a donor and related parts.

I need to go through their parts catalog and pick out other parts I may want to add. Exciting!

Cheers
Dave
