I am just finishing up my tailgate install and I need to trim the back fibreglass. How thick are the bed boards that FFR supply?

thanks Pat. Did you cut the fibreglass right down to the SS bed. I know you did not use the SS bed, but where it would have been.

Yes, approximately. Then I installed some edging purchased from Amazon to dress up the edge a bit seeing as my bed base is removable.

It looks like this….

If you want to use some edging I’d be happy to drop a 10 ft length in the mail…

Wow! That would be fantastic. It’s a big ask on my part and very generous on yours how can I compensate you for it? Also you must have (when the tailgate is down) attached the exposed fiberglass to the frame somehow. I can see how it can be done but in all the pics I see there are no screws visible.

Hi Jerry:

You have my email address. Send me your full snail mail address and I’ll make it happen. I just had a different board member graciously mail me something…so feel like I owe the FFR community to even things out….

No worries! 👍🏼😁

PS. I’ll send you more details on my installation with the edging.

Is that a handle I see in the photo? if so did you hinge the bed to be able to get to what is underneath such as gas tank sender and pump?

Howdy Chuck!

It isn’t hinged…it lifts out completely in seconds. Yes for access: gas fill, fuel pump/filter, water-methanol tank and battery.
Also fitted with quick release mount for my bicycles.

Hi Jerry:

Because I made my box removable as one piece, it isn’t attached to the frame. What I did was securely tie the outer edges of the roll pan to the inner edges of the box sides using a combination of pop rivets with washers on the inside.
