I,m not a big show attendee, but I entered one this weekend, as it was a benefit for young adults with learning disabilities. The organization (JARC), is a south Florida group who provides job training for these individuals. I was in a class called "Spirit of Racing" with a 2005 Ford GT, an Aston Martin Superlegerra and a few other Brit racers. Won Best of Class and Best of Show. There were about 80 cars, many nice vintage Vettes and a slew of American Muscle Cars. I was humbled to get Best of Show with so many nice cars in attendance. That Whitby paint job continues to impress.147950147951

That is Carrol Shelby's Terlingua Racing Team Mascot. It's a great story if you don't know it. Much too long to explain here. Google "Terlingua Racing Team" .

Fun story, thanks! Never heard that one. Makes me want to go south and buy a 200,000 acre ranch myself! Maybe next year.

Congrats on the win

That's great, congrats!

Were these trophy's decided on by car show judges, or the spectators? In the past I've seen show judges basically thumb their noses at "kit cars", whereas the spectators just love them.

Congrats Joe! Just curious, for you and others that attend shows, do you just put the year of your replica on the registration/ID papers or do you include “replica” and the year built?

The Judges were "cxar guys" related to the Hagerty Garage and Social Club. There was no spectator judging.

When I registered the car, I identified it as a 1965 Cobra Daytona Replica. This particular show did not have a specific "Replica" class. Being in Florida the registration is a 2020 ASP (Assembled from Parts).

Great Story, I even bought a t-shirt, hat and some decals (for when I finally build my coupe). I liked the part where they put a TRT decal on practically every car in the 1966 Indy 500.
