So my Truck kit will not be here until Oct 02, 2021. Lots of time to gather stuff and practice skills. Looks like I can master bending fuel/brake lines. Now the question is: should I leave them natural/silver or paint them black including the mounting brackets and leave the brass fittings natural.... whats the concensus? Fuel line could be green/blue and the return red?
Will this look like a clown car? I am leaning towards black and natural brass..... fire away!

It’s your build . I used Nicop for the brake lines and braided Teflon for fuel. Rob

I to used the Nicop. Much easier to bend and flair. If you go stainless you better invest in hydraulic flare tool! I used the same for fuel lines up to inside of firewall, and put bulkhead through firewall and used AN lines in the engine bay. Paint or natural? Its all a matter of personnel preference. I left everything natural and it looked clean and simple. I did get some higher quality SS line clamps, drilled and tapped everything, and used SS button head bolts instead of riveting.

Heres a couple pictures of the fuel lines and brake lines exiting firewall so you get an idea of what the Nicop looks like. Note that I changed the routing from the instructions to put everything through bulkheads on the firewall. Again, its all about what you like.

Thanks everyone.... so NiCop is softer? And if i buy a coil of it is it easy to straighten out? Or better of with straight pieces?
TIA

I use Nicop for both. It is softer, but has a thicker wall with a higher burst strength than the stainless lines you get. Typically comes in a coil, but is easy to roll out and get straight. I used the following double flare tool with it and cannot say enough good things about it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XPRVCPV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
By the way, Nicop looks gorgeous when polished.

Or you can get carried away.
I ran polished stainless steel hard lines and used ptfe stainless braided for final connections

Here is a thread on my brake lines https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?37933-Truck-Brake-Line-Routing
I just used the green steel lines provided and did not have to flare anything. If I had it to do over again I would have cut off the running board brackets and made for a little cleaner install.
On the fuel lines I ran PTFE. Everything was tucked in and secured with clamps and #10-32 button head screws.

Howdy!
If I were ever to do the truck kit again…something similar would either be on my to do list…or on my ultimate “FFR please change this in the kit” list.
A laser cut hole between the bolts in the frame brackets (and for those of us using them) the running board support brackets would be a perfect and simple solution.
My 2 cents.
Cheers!

I used Nicopp on both brake and fuel. Was very easy to work with. I bought an adjustable tube straightener off ebay and a eastwood flairing tool (since sold on this forum). Worked perfectly. If you go this route I recommend the nicopp from "thestopshop" on amazon. The cheaper roll is crap and was dealing with horrible flairs until I realized it was the material.

Another good source for tubing (whether you decide to go with Nicopp or Stainless Steel) is Inline Tube (https://www.inlinetube.com/collections/tubing). I bought all my SS tubing from them for the brake and fuel lines, and was very happy with the quality.

I am very impressed by the look of the polished stainless steel. What caps did you use to secure the lines?
Also, can you see much of the brake lines when the cars are put together? Like most of us, I'll probably do it because I want the look whether it can been seen or not, but I thought I'd ask if you can really see all that work that's being put into the brake lines.

Yes, those clamps came with the kit. I did buy a few more that I liked better though. Had a little trouble with the link below, hopefully it works. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071D8V4FX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

The straps are included but like everything else these days, fewer are included. Same cushion clips can be found here if you want to match the ones from F5R. And in a bunch more sizes.
