My 65 coupe (no power steering)now has 1800 miles on it. No problem, except parking!!!!.

It is pretty much impossible to retrofit an electric unit under the dash, unless you do it really early in the build.
I'm figuring out how to install a unit after the firewall, and I don't want to mess with the installed shaft assembly as I experiment.

Hoping someone has an unused assembly which I could buy. PM me if you do.

Thanks, fred

I should have been more specific!

I only need the long piece that goes from the firewall to the pinion of the rack-and-pinion. Don't need the complete assembly.

Freds,
I read somewhere that someone called Flaming River as they sell a wide variety of steering components including steering shafts.

Most any of the hot rod suppliers (Speedway, posies, Yogis, etc. ) sell the shafts in various lengths and materials (either plain steel or stainless). I think Speedway has the best selection.

Thanks, appreciate the response. Why I'm just checking for a FFR piece as "I'd like" a piece with the Universals attached. I have no problem using the FFR shaft I have installed in the car except I have to take the car out of service while I remove the piece and fit the electric unit. It would obviously be simpler for me to do whatever is necessary and just fit it in place when it is ready to be installed.
So no crisis, I'm just looking for convenience.
