How are you guys installing the Glovebox Option with the Heater/Defroster Option?
I ask because in the FFR Info it states the Heater /Defroster cannot be mounted in the standard location if the Glovebox is installed?

you'll need to 1) move the heater core somewhere else, 2) get a forward firewall piece from FF metals, or 3) make the depth of your glovebox shallower to accommodate for the heater core, or a combo of the options.

Where else can the Heater Core be located?

center of the firewall, top of PS footbox, or you can make your own custom box to kick the core out further towards the engine bay.

Center of the firewall can be problematic depending on the engine you are using.
Firewall forward and reduce the glove box depth by about an inch gave me the clearance I needed. I only use the glove box for papers and a few items like tire pressure gauge, pair of glasses, and usb cables so having it reduced in depth is no issue.
One note, with a SBF if you build a box to move the heater core further out into the engine bay be careful. You may have clearance issues on the PS valve cover. With the firewall forward I only have about 1/2" clearance. Modular may be even more of an issue as they are wider?

Here are a couple of pictures my setup. I made a box and moved the core forward. The heater core tubes were cut and new connections soldered on to help with the clearance issue already mentioned. This allowed a 3 inch deep glove box. If you want defrost vents on both sides you will need a plenum or fabricate something yourself to get air to the passenger side vent.

I used Alex's (not sure he's still in buisness) low profile glove box. It's only 3/4" or so deep but enough for the look, store some paperwork/phone with the heater core in the recommended position directly on firewall.

I have the “big head” Coyote and a full glove box. I used the firewall forward mod to mount the heater a little further into the engine bay. But then had to make some simple brackets to mount it back further into the dash to avoid the engine. My glove box back is up against the heater and that adds some support/rigidity to the plastic box. The heater hoses are modified to make the turn further down so as to be out of the way too. It fits but just barely.

Here is what I did. Long term, I don't know how it will work out, but...

Since I did this mock up I made some minor changes, but overall it looks the same.

Rick,
The PS windshield mounting bolts are usually reached and installed from the engine compartment right in the area where you've placed the heater. Do you have a panel in the dash area open so you can reach them from the passenger compartment like you have to do with the DS?
Steve
I'm using the quick release windshield system that just has the one pin from Lodestone Billetworks. I have an access panel in the PS footbox that makes it easy to reach where the pin gets inserted, and the DS I just have to reach down through the access panel in the top of the footbox in the engine compartment. It wasn't until I finally put the body on with all the trim, so that I could start registration, that I could finally confirm that the system would work. It's not the easiest, since you're working blind on both sides, but it's not something that I plan to do on a regular basis. And with that I've probably jinxed myself!

I moved mine to the center with a SBF. There was some modification to the heater unit required.
