How are the hood latch brackets supposed to be held to the lip of the body? Self tapping screws into the aluminum brackets, nuts and bolts, etc.?

If you are referring to the small brackets that the latch paddles engage when closed, then yes. They attach to the recess of the hood opening. The method of attachment is your choice. I used machine screws through rubber bumpers with Nylock nuts on the underside.

Mr. Kleiner modified this when he installed the much improved weatherstip for my hood. He used flush mounts I believe so that the weatherstrip is a continuous piece. You can see one in this not-so-great picture:

Papa, do you know where he got that hood seal, I like that idea much better then the little bumper pads.

I think he gets it from either Breeze or Replicaparts, both vendors on this site.

I got my hood bulb seal from Breeze Automotive it can also be used for the doors and trunk.
