I have the low seats and bought them as a more original looking option at the time. 11 years later and my brain is telling me that perhaps I little neck support in the event of a rear end collision may be a wise addition. Does anyone know if there is a bolt on head support one can add to the low back seats, or is my only option to buy new high backs. Thanks, John.

Reach out to Mark Burger. He added awesome headrests to his low back FFR Roadster seats.

Thanks for the kind words Henry.
John, I got this idea from another forum member, also a John.
These are a headrest add-on kit for a 65 Mustang purchased from CJ Pony Parts but available in many places.
If it’s something you want to do yourself, I’ll post a link to John’s thread on how he did it. I used an upholsterer and it was done the same way. I like that they are removable and fully adjustable.

I made mine up. had an extra set of seats (thought i was going to use for the build) but found they were too small in the hip area. But they had headrests on them. Took them apart used the frame and added a flat steel to it. Got some roll bar mounts and put them all together. Nice thing is i can flip the passenger side so the head rest is lower for the wife, plus multiple holes for adjustment as well. Works great, but i do not have long legs and the seat is not in the farthest back position. Doug

See Jack Lawrence video for details on his homemade approach to add headrest to a coupe.
