Would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has helped me with encouragement and insight ( even though you might have not known you were doing it as I creeped yall's build threads and picked up so much info and tricks ). In particular, edwardb, Papa, GoDadGo, Jeff K, Fman, dabat, BradCraig to name a few. It took a village to raise this idiot LOL!!.
Went through the prep process prescribed to get the oil through the engine by BPE with the Spark plugs out and coil positive unattached, and the fuel pump off. Then.... The moment of truth. She started a little rough due to some loose gas line connections. Once fixed she loped sooooo nice!
Then took a slow spin down my driveway and back with the wife. My driveway is almost ½ mile long so it is a good test area. Also I have insurance on it through state farm. Not sure how but my agent has got me a policy and insurance card.
here are a couple of videos of my most awesome day.... The first video was the first start and the second is a little better quality with some go karting down the driveway.

I kept thinking about your first start and the excitement and surprise you had. I was just hoping it would be ½ as successful as yours.

That's a huge milestone. Congratulations! Now you can run into the garage at random times and start it just so you can listen to it!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!
That is so exciting, and I'm glad you were able to get out going. We are still waiting for spindles, power steering, and a steering wheel. Once those arrive we will be ready to go. I hope my first start and go kart is s smooth as yours.
Man, that sounded so good. And what a pretty drive through the trees. That is a thing of beauty. I will definitely be watching that over and over again until I get mine started!!!!

Congrats on the milestone achievements. You will never stop smiling knowing that all that work cumulated in the machine you created. I have say your drive through the woods was amazing, then I remembered it was your driveway. What a beautiful place to keep working on your masterpiece.

Thank you guys for your kind words and encouragement. I woke up this morning and went for a 55 mile bike ride with my cycling buddies and the whole time I was thinking about getting back and working on my Roadster. Sdonnel and hineas thank you for the compliment on my driveway. We have lived at our farm since 2003 and just love living in the country.
Congrats!!! Dang that thing sounds great! Guaranteed 100 smiles per gallon :D
Congratulations! A big milestone for sure.

Thanks Fman and cv2065. I really stalked yall's build threads in conjunction with Papa. They were so helpful! I am about to start stalking anything that has Jeff Kleiner and Dabat on it once I start getting the body on and getting it registered in Gelcoat LOL!

Congratulations. You obviously got things set up properly. The engine hardly turns over before starting. Love your daughters reactions. My daughter helped during the build more than my son and wife and therefore got the first legal ride around town.
