About a decade ago, good friend of mine‘s father-in-law bought hot rod number 20. Brand new, picked it up right from Factory Five and after the races they went. Like most of these projects I would imagine, they hit snags they couldn’t overcome and eventually gave up. But they did get the broad strokes done. Engine, trans, suspension brakes are all in place.... but the car doesn’t run, I don’t think it’s ever been driven and really need somebody to shove it over the finish line.

I got a call a couple of months ago and found a hole in my schedule. Now it’s my problem. So, I take a 302, T5 car with a carburetor that’s as early as they get and make it into a car.

interestingly, for the most part it looks like they did good work. They just need somebody to do the last 10%

The question on everyone's mind is will #20 be painted before Seth's car?
It will be cool to see the differences.

Thanks,
Andy

Funny, because it’s true. The answer is probably. The enjoyment I get out of my car rough might be reduced by spending a fortune on paint. I’ve bumped that car off the rev limiter it so many times and it worries me. It’s a donut king. And I can’t drive it without burnouts.

The engine failed the leak down test spectacularly. Hoping the rings are stuck. Little MMO and a month of soaking....

Calipers on order; carb being rebuilt, rest of fuel system resolved...

New brakes, rebuilt the carb, buttoned up the fuel system, found a filler pipe that will work, required the car and am starting on fixing the awful bracket for the hydraulic clutch.

Machined a new Clutch slave bracket. Not sure if it’s too much angle, yet, but at least it’s not under the gas pedal.
