I have replaced the standard brake pads on my Mark 4 kit because they were not stopping the car very well. The new Hawk pads made a big difference and I am happy with them. My brakes stop the car straight and the is pedal firm. The pedal goes very far down but never hits the floor. I have the Wilwood pedal assembly and would like to know if I can adjust the pedal if I take off the left side foot box top access panel? Can anyone give me some advice?

Make sure you fully bleed the brakes. The brake pedal should not have significant travel if the MC is full and the system is properly bled. The pedal should only travel 1' to 2" inches before getting a firm pedal. Having said that if you have travel before engaging the pushrod for the MC, then that's a different thing. Sorry, I don't have the Wilwood setup to know specifics for what you're experiencing.

Yes you can adjust the top height that the pedal stops at. Limited by the bar in the footbox that crosses behind the pedal arm. But you can't adjust the amount it travels once pushed. As Rdone585 said, should only travel a couple inches when pushed. Going "almost to the floor" isn't right and I wouldn't be driving it. Sounds like you still have air in the system. Or something else isn't right.

I did bleed the system well, and changed the fluid, the pedal is very firm and they do not pump up. I am under the impression that if there was air in the system the pedal would be soft and with pumping, the pedal would become more engaged at a higher point. I think I will try to bleed them again, as I said they stop well with a very firm pedal but the pedal is too low for my liking. Maybe it’s just me.
