Volt meter ground?

I’m wiring my dash and I noticed every gauge has a ground associated to it except the volt meter. The wiring diagram from FFR shows it not being used but the instructions that came with the Autometer gauges says to ground it.

I’m planing to ground it, but wanted to check to see if there is any reason I shouldn’t

It has to be grounded just like the other gauges. Highly recommend to also use the instructions that Autometer includes with their gauges. They have the specific detail. The Ron Francis instructions while OK are more generic.
