Looking for ideas to make floor pan weather and rattle proof. Is there a type of fiberglass or similar material I can apply to the entire inside of the cab floor to seal all seams and holes to create a continuous surface before heat and sound proofing?
Then do the same thing to the drive tunnel /tran. housing before mating them to the floor.

Do you have the older style single layer floorboards or the newer double layer aluminum with the foam sandwiched in between.
I think the answers you’ll get will depend a fair bit on this.

If you install the aluminum panels per the instructions, e.g. with RTV and properly spaced and installed rivets, it's weatherproof and doesn't rattle. Add insulation and carpet and it's very robust. I've done several Roadsters and a Coupe and there are zero rattles are squeaks anywhere. I personally don't think it's necessary to do more. The truck, like the hot rod, adds the double layer floor and the fiberglass tunnel. IMO just needs to be installed per the instructions. That's how I'll be doing my truck.

I have the single layer floor pan and I caulked all the necessary seams then heat shield and sound foam. After all those steps it’s very solid. I wasn’t all crazy about weather proofing it because I am running an open engine and always check the weather and radar before taking it out. Rob

I have a riveted tin boat that was weeping along the keel. I had the bottom center section rino-lined and its tighter than a ducks butt now but I will never be removing any of those rivets and it added a fair bit of weight.

147130I have the sandwich floor. Before assembly I sprayed the underside with lizard skin sound control, ceramic heat control and then upol raptor bed liner. Once riveted in place with foam and 5200 I sprayed the same sequence on the interior.
