As I wait for my kit to arrive I'm spending some time reviewing the assemble manual. I keep noticing that a number of the brake line connections have multiple loops in the line at the connection. Do these serve a purpose or is this just a way of not having to cut and flare a pre-made brake line to the correct length?

You'll get different opinions. Many will say it is for vibration and serviceability. But it's also used to take up excess length to avoid flares. Personally, I don't use them. With the proper tools and a little practice, making your own flares is no big deal at all. One of those things I don't understand why so many are afraid of.

I'll second that. They are there because people just don't want to cut and flare. They can be a problem, causing trapped air in the line. Avoid them.

Edwards, That's what I thought, I've flared a lot of brake lines over the years on other projects but I didn't want to miss something if it served a purpose on these cars. Thanks for the response.

I do not like the loops either, I used a snapon double flaring tool and it worked wonderfully well. A secret to making good clean flare faces is a drop of oil on the face of the flare while making the flare. But.. make sure you clean off all oil with some brake clean because oil and brake fluid don't like each other.

I'm assuming the lines included with the kit are steel and not stainless which can be a little harder to double flare?

they are service loops, they allow parts to be moved without having to bleed the whole system each time.

kit provided lines are PVF coated steel lines, not stainless.

I just finished my brake lines, I highly recommend the NiCopp lines, very pliable and easier to form IMHO
The Stop Shop 25 ft. Copper Nickel 3/16" Brake Line Tubing w/metric brake line ISO/Bubble Flare fittings (Pack of 16 fittings) (https://amzn.to/3xmsJE2) is $27
also highly recommend a good tubing bender, I used the RIDGID 36117 403 Instrument Bender, 3/16-inch Tube Bender for Bends Up to 180 Degrees, Pipe Bender,Black/Silver,Small (https://amzn.to/3vn9pon)
