I need t find a Coupe to sit in, but in the meantime can anyone tell me the maximum distance that can be achieved in a build from the inside back of a driver's seat to the brake pedal? It has been mentioned that the low back vintage seats provide the most room, true? I figure if I know this dimension I can sit on the floor with my back to the wall and see how much my knees will be bent when working the pedals. From what I have read everyone seems to find a way in and out of the car, so I'm more worried about ease of operation.

Thanks for any assistance.

i just ran out to the showroom where we have a type 65 with the lowbacks in it, Brake pedal at rest position to middle of low back vintage seats is 48 inchs. If you think you need more leg room its not uncommon for people to shim up the front of the seats so the drivers legs are naturally more bent.

You are the man Mike!!! That is great. 48" will definitely work. It is more than I thought there would be. I'm 6'5" (used to be 6'6", but I'm 63 years old now) with long legs. Sitting height has never been a problem for me (except in my sisters 1980 Fiat X-19. Had to drive that with the top off).

Now I just need to figure how to spread the pedals apart to fit my size 13 EEE feet. About 5 inches wide from bunion to pinky toe. I'm sure there is a way to do that.

Getting closer to that order.

Thanks Doug, You are near La Grange right? I am headed to Austin this weekend for my son's Lacrosse state playoffs. We will be returning either Saturday or Sunday afternoon, depending on the outcome of Saturday's game. Would either afternoon work for you? If so, what would be the best way to get in contact to let you know?

i made brackets for my roadster seats to give about 10 degree angle and raised off floor about 2" in front

Also with the Wilwood pedals the pads can be mounted offset to the left to give you extra space between the brake and accelerator pedal.
