I have a two year old MK4 complete kit with most of the upgrades, rear end, Brembo Brakes, leather seats, wheels, chrome side pipes. Had to move to a place without a garage so it has to go, I'm up to putting in the brake lines about a third finished on project. I have 30K into it, will sacrifice at 15K OBO.

I sent Dutch a PM asking what the motor/rear setup is. Unless its Coyote and IRS I am out due to the distance from me. In that case Henry its all yours hopefully a good deal for one of us.

Sounds good Svassh! I also PM’d him saying you have first shot. What say you Dutch?

Thx,

Henry

IRS is one thing but you can get the parts for coyote for not much. I wouldn't make that part of your decision.

Sorry Henry... :)

So the frame is not different for a Coyote vs SBF? I assumed the engine mounts and location where probably different. Same for IRS vs Solid Axle, frame is different or not?

Yes, frame is different for solid axle vs. IRS. As for Coyote there are some specific aluminum panels and of course headers are different.

I can verify this first hand cause I had to convert my build for coyote.... it's just some minor parts; footbox alum, pedal mount, etc... all in its not much...maybe $150. You will also need the motor mounts, spacers and appropriate headers. But you would have to buy those anyway. I did hear that FFR converted all DS footbox alum to the coyote style so that would be a bonus. That alum was not all that expensive.

I just converted a MK4 from push rod to Coyote motor and as stated above, pretty simple. I’d send pics but all the aluminum is at powder coater. If you’re willing to give up the IRS, this is a sweet deal. If you decide against it, I have a 69 FE 390 waiting for a home.

Dutch...is the car available?

Dutch has gone quiet at least to 65 Cobra Dude and I. No response to PM or email. I'll give Dutch the benefit of the doubt for now but would not be the first scammer to respond to a WTB ad.

The red flags for Dutch:
1. member since 2018 and this is first post
2. significant distance from buyer (me)
3. 65 Cobra Dude is close to Venice and no responses either

Quick Update, I did get a call back from Dutch today and spoke to him. It is setup for a 351 and solid axle. I have passed his contact info onto Henry so hopefully it works out for him.

Hope I'm wrong about the scam!

Nothing heard here either. As svassh said above, possible scammer. If I hear anything, I’ll report back here.

Thx,

Henry

I just spoke to Ed, the owner. I’m going to look at the car on Tuesday at 1100. Svassh gave me the go ahead because there is no IRS.

Guys, it's no scam. I just haven't been on the forum because I haven't worked on the car in a couple of years as I've been working overseas. Henry is coming on Tuesday to check it out. If that falls through I will get up with the next person in the order they contacted me, just didn't want to be dealing with 5 different people about the car at the same time.

Thanks, Ed

Glad it turned out for you. Hopefully one closer or with IRS comes along for me. If not my order is already in but October seems so far away.

Congrats Henry! Sounds like you got a great deal on a new project. If I were anywhere near Florida, I would have been all over it too.

I'm sure some pictures will be forthcoming ;)

A 427 would be awesome in that Mk4. Maybe a 390 sitting around could get you there. (hint hint)
