I am getting closer to ordering a 65 Coupe kit. I live in a townhome with limited space for large moving vans to unload. I have a few logistics questions on how FFR kit deliveries have gone.
1. About how long does it take to unload the boxes and car?
2. About how much does the heaviest box weigh? (I suspect it will be my rear axle. I'm ordering the 3-link.)
3. About how much does the car (chassis, body & panels) weigh as it comes?
I am considering renting a storage unit to hold the boxes and retrieve them as needed.
I look forward to interacting with and hopefully meeting the people in this forum. Thank you in advance.

Welcome! I assume you know lead time for ordering is 4-5 months or more. Just in case you didn't... I'll take a shot at your questions:
1. Maybe 30 minutes to an hour. Kind of depends on how long the haul is to your garage. There's also time spent checking to make sure all the boxes are accounted for, signing papers, etc. Pretty painless if you use Stewart. They know the drill.
2. For your kit delivery, probably the heaviest box is 50/60/70 pounds max. Most aren't that heavy. The rear axle, assuming you're talking about Moser, isn't shipped with the kit. It's drop shipped directly from Moser and it's a brute. Several hundred pound crate delivered by a truck carrier. Looks like a coffin.
3. I would guess 800-900 lbs. Others may have a more exact answer.
I completed a Gen 3 Coupe last year and we're in our second season driving it. Absolutely love it. Build thread link in my sig line below if you have some hours to kill. Good luck.

Hi Steve,
I went to FFR to pick up my Coupe.
Everything was loadable/unloadable by hand on my U-Haul rental truck. Except for the frame/body that was loaded with a forklift and that I unloaded with dollies, ramps and a couple guys.
As edmardb wrote, 30 minutes to an hour to unload. He's right about the boxes weight, I can't remember one that couldn't be handled.
3 link here also. The Moser is a 300 pounds beast with a crate that could be made better... But it was delivered by a third party to my house. Also moved around on a dolly. But it's nothing compared with the box received from BluePrint with a 347 and transmission linked to it...At least double the weight! 2 dollies then! LOL!
Car, chassis and panels was more in the 500-600 pounds in my mind...but edwardb is probably more knowledgable than me on this.
One important thing to do when you get your shipment is to do your inventory. It would be a PITA, 3 months after you got your kit, that you realize there are all these parts missing and you have to say to FFR after all this time that you can't find this or that. When you mentionned the missing parts shortly after reception FFR is very fast to send you parts. Just my 2 cents.
As other have said before: "Welcome to the madness. You'll have a lot of fun!"

Thanks edwardb, great info., just as it appears you always provide. I have spent some time looking at your build thread on items I was concerned I would not be able to complete. I am not an auto mechanic. I am looking forward to getting this underway and hope to pull the trigger in the next 30 days.
I'll be talking to you I'm sure.

Thanks UpNorth. Seems we are on the same page. I am leaning toward the 347 (Carb) from Blueprint with the TKX (0.64 5th gear). Thanks for the advise on inventory. Really looking forward to this. I will be posting my order when I pull the trigger. It is a blast planning this and it will be so much fun seeing it take shape and then actually driving it.
