Hey everyone, I'm installing my Russ Thompson Turn Signal today and could use some help. I'm having trouble getting the tube to move down the upper steering shaft. As you can see in the picture, I've got to move the mounting plate forward another two inches towards the front of the car, but it's stuck and wont wiggle down any further (or back out, for that matter).

I've loosened up the nuts on the pillow bearing so I would think it has enough play to prevent binding. The shaft appears to be stuck on the plastic sleeve inside the turn signal tube. I'm reluctant to use too much brute force on this piece. Any advice?

Thanks,
-Andrew

If the shaft is stuck, get something like this to get it back out:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08QR9G2MD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The a bit of emery cloth on the shaft should let is slide in/out a bit easier and may let you get it where you want it.

yeah, don't keep whacking it like I did... a new upper/mid shaft cost me $184 :(
the tolerances are stupid tight on these parts...

oh and don't forget the steering shaft will come out past the RT turn signal
