Belly full of corn!

I had prepared for Flex Fuel when building the 818, with the exception of larger injectors. Thanks to Hobby Racer I took care of that with his "old" EZ36 injectors last weekend. A quick couple changes in the Haltech ECU and it's on it!

First fill was a mix of 5G E85 and 3.5G pump gas, resulting in a measured "E44". Right away, the difference was noticeable! In 40+ years of performance cars and bikes, never has a "bolt-on" upgrade been so noticeable to me. More power, a bit smoother idle, and much worse mileage! Like <14mpg! Granted there was some "testing" going on in 7 gallons burned, but I went less than 100miles on it.

This morning I re-filled with 7 gallons, giving a measured "E68" reading. Time for some weekend testing- just not too far from a pump...

Current prices were Premium about $4.75, and E85 $2.99.

Premium gasolene over here (Non-Ethanol) is running $2.99 (Cash Price) for 93 Octane.

I wish I could get E85 around here. Much cheaper than race gas. Closest E85 pump for me is over 50 miles away!

Oh, we have plenty of refineries and holes in the ground and seafloor, so that's not the problem! "Why is it so expensive to live in California? Cause it's worth it!"

Up here in Wisconsin a Belly full of corn might have been the cars belly pan full of corn from the mice stashing corn for the long winter months because the car is in storage!!:mad::mad:

curious what your fuel economy is when you get to primarily running e85 some of my other platforms mpgs are sooooo hurt it makes it very difficult to justify
