I had a bit of a scare today whilst sitting waiting at the lights in traffic I happened to glance up at the oil pressure gauge.......I thoughts that is a bit low.......and then it just slowly sank down to 5Psi......Aaaarrrgggghhhh!!!

It turns out is was a bad sender unit on the engine - a 427W. The earth post is cracked and was not grounding the sender unit properly so when the electric cooling fan cut in it killed the oil pressure figures.

Does anybody know what the specs are for an electric sender unit for the FFR Classic Gauge set? I cant read all of the numbers on the current sender unit.

Oh man, that would have been a stressful moment. Pretty sure the gauges you mention are from speedhut and the sender's are proprietary? I have found these guys excellent to deal with. I had to have my odometer changed to 999,999km range to meet a ridiculous rego requirement. Speedhut did it at no cost, including writing new firmware, all in a very short turnaround to Australia.

I have read on this forum that some have put a flexible line from the engine to a chassis mounted op sender to prevent engine vibration killing the sender.

As Dennis Denuto says "it's the vibe"
