Hey guys. I am placing my gas peddle. I was wondering where you ran the cable hole. On some of the FFR pics it shows it above the firewall cross bar. That would be way to high for mine. Here is where I propose to put mine

Any thoughts?

That will work fine.

Hope you do not mind if I piggy back off of your thread.....

Has anyone considered moving brake arm to the clutch position....for auto trans.....for more accelerator room?

I have...the issue I saw is that the C-C distance between the two brake master cylinders is quite a bit narrower than the C-C distance between the left hand brake and clutch cylinders.

That would require fabricating a new (and safe/strong) balance bar. So I decided against trying that option.

I don’t have a auto trans but that would make sense to move the brake pedal over for more room.
On the other question about placement of the gas pedal I looked at my truck this morning and my accelerator cable comes in above the horizontal brace in the fire wall. If I remember correctly by it was a matter of a placement for the cable on the engine side of the firewall. I’m running a dart 347 with tall valve covers and it was tight to get the cable snaked around to get hooked up. I did not use the ffr kit supplied cable I bought a shorter stainless cable but still had to cut to fit. The gas pedal base I had to add washers to the firewall area to get it to kick out enough to get around the horizontal brace inside. 145672

I suppose a guy could check the Wilwood catalog for a dual Master only bracket to see if it uses the same cylinders/pedal/balance bar. Should that exist it would be a fairly simple matter to fab an interface plate to put the new M-C assy in the truck.

Added note: I just looked online and saw this on Sp**dway Motors website.
Wilwood 340-12509 Dual Master Cylinder Adj Brake Pedal, Rev Swing Mnt. Corrected the part number at 10 AM MST to reflect the right pedal ratio.

I’m about 95% certain now this is correct but one would need to go through the datasheets first.

Also, seeing as one needs to fab up an adapter plate, they could make it a ‘drop down’ style at the same time and get the brake pedal where they want it relative to the floor. 🧐

Try routing it around the heads/valve cover of a Rat motor! LOL 😂

I have a small novel full of ideas that wouldn’t work.... Ha!!

I looked at that but there is very little room in the foot box as it is. So it is nice to be able to put your left foot and leg in my case almost straight out. makes it a more comfortable drive.

Same challenges as the hot rod. At build school, they recommend mounting the gas pedal on an extrusion or equivalent to raise it. I did that and had the cable exit just under the firewall cross bar. I loop the cable around 360 degrees to connect up to the sniper on my 347 - that avoids sharp turns that can cause binding.
