I'm having an issue with my roll bar. Mark IV car.

Where the hoop and the rear tube come together I have about 3/32" gap on the underside of the tube. Top side is tight together.

I raised up on the hoop itself which closes the gap but then the front seems too far up, not much engagement on the frame mounts.

It seems like I could carefully grind a bit on the rear tube lower end and it's mate on the frame to work this gap down a bit.

Thought??

Thanks, Dale

Tried to post a pic. No luck. I'll try again this evening.

I had same issue, used the 520 bolt less kit and it pulled it together. This kit eliminates the Frankenstein bolt. Using a long pipe you can also bend lower mounting tube on frame to help with the angle.

I have the tangent kit. Never thought of trying to bend the rear mount. That's a good idea. I'll give that a try. Thanks

I would have loved to do this on my MK IV if I would not have drilled the hole first. Maybe up grade later.

I just ordered a couple of these for my roll bars. Glad to hear some good reviews on it.

The 520 kit is well worth it IMO, clean install and eliminates you having to drill into your roll bar and risk chipping/damaging the chrome.
