This is a very busy resort town in the summer. Please don't think that you will be able to just show up friday and get a room (it wont happen) Don't wait untill the last minute for your reservation or you will get shut out.
Here are links to some of the past years videos so first timers can get a feel for what it's all about.

Thanks guys, promise I will try to not screw them up this year!
I have to see what's up with the wife/kids, I'd love to be able to get up there for the weekend,
probably have to bring the Saleen since I don't think the coupe will be on the road yet.

Hi,
This looks like a great time. Gives me something to look forward to while the snow melts. What is the general schedule for the event. Arrive on Friday, leave on Sunday? Is there a car show, cruises, etc?

Shawn. Yes, yes, yes, and Yes, etc. Some people go on Thursday I believe as well. You can go on the boat cruise on the lake, visit the Fort (Haunted) which is right next to the hotel, Lots of places to eat. We usually have a group lunch at the hotel as part of saying thank you to the hotel for letting us use the front lawn to park on. same reason why most of us stay there as well. I have gone for 3 years I missed last year though. Hoping to go this year. Great time. Great people.

Hey Jared. You can make a day trip out of it. There have been some real crazy people that have done it in the past. One real nut did it as his shake-down run (sorry Mark, I could not resist)

I just got off the phone with our host, Greg and the event is definitely on. Those who were there last year probably remember the stink the hotel gave us because they did not think we rented enough rooms to make it worth their while. Well, low and behold, we had rented plenty of rooms but they did not know we were there for the Summer Run. The reason was we were getting cheaper rates with AAA or Military. That's OK, get the cheapest rooms you can but please, after prices are agreed upon, let them know you are there for the Summer Run and make our lives easier.
Thanks and hope to see you there. It really is a low key event with great people, scenery, cars and itinerary.

Henry, Do you want me to scope out another destination instead of Ticonderoga's McDonalds?

Harvey came up with a great idea. What do you guys think about having a picnic halfway through the ride instead of rushing back for lunch at the Hotel? We can ask the Hotel to make us box lunches that we take with us and eat at the 1/2 way point - Maybe Ft Ticonderoga - I need to run it by Greg and Randy/Julie and see if the hotel will make box lunches but wanted to run it by you guys first???
Henry
Pat - thanks for the offer. Let's keep it open for now and see what folks think about Harvey's idea.

Harvey has a good idea, i also think you should let pat scoop out some other options. It doesn't hurt to have more than one option.

Henry, Julie and Randy, any update on the shirts? We'll need a couple of weeks
to get them done depending on how many you want.

Are the T-Shirts still a go. Kathy and I both want one each.

OK Folks,
Just got off the phone with Greg and spoke to Randy at the Open House. We have more details.
Registration fee this year is $50 per car (payable to Greg on arrival please) and that includes up to 2 box lunches for the Saturday cruise. Extra box lunches are $15 each. Need a box lunch count by end of day 4 July so we can get the number to the Fort. Please post here how many lunches you will need.
On Saturday, we will meet as usual and the drive will be to a Ford Dealership in Elizabethtown (about 30 minutes further than the usual McDonalds). He has a bunch of space and will have folks there to help out as well as some cars for us to see. we'll eat our box lunches there. For the trip back to the Fort, there are a couple of options:
- Drive straight back to Fort via 9N (very scenic route)
- Drive back via Keene Valley (little longer and very very scenic)
- Drive North to Lake Placid (about 40 minutes further North)
- Wherever you would like to go
Now the bad news - we've decided to not go with shirts this year. We apologize to anyone that looks forward to the shirts (and to you Ted) but the shirts are always a crap shoot. That's why you were able to buy shirts from the previous Summer Runs last year. Trying to make it as non-stressful to Greg, Randy, Julie and I as can be.
Thanks for understanding and really looking forward to this event.
See you soon,
Henry

No problem on the shirts guys... getting tight on the time anyway.
If anyone wants one, I can always make them up, I still have the design file from last year.
They were embroidered polo shirts, not t-shirts.

Marcel, Steve and I had a great time at Summer Run. I liked the new route as well as the stop for lunch at the Ford Dealer. He had some really nice cars there. Thank you to Greg and Nicole, and Randy and Julie for making this happen. Sorry I had to punch out a little early. Anyone that lives within reasonable driving distance to this event needs to put it on their bucket list.
Can't wait until next year,
