Hello folks,...

What (if any) 3D design software do you use? I recently came across shapr3d for iPad, but it is fairly expensive (150$/yr for the hobby version).

Any recommendations? I would prefer for iPad...

I can't recommend much on the Ipad, as I've never used it for 3D modeling. But there is Autodesk Fusion 360 that is free on PC. I have Autodesk Inventor thru work (remote connection, so I can use it while at home) , but a number of coworkers have Fusion 360 on home computers to use for hobbies.

What is it you are looking to model and what are you going to do with the data? Single components or complex assemblies?

I 2nd the Fusion360 for PC. It is free for personal use currently. However, their terms and eligibility seem to change and they keep adding more and more limitations to their free version. Looks like they may be developing a web interface that would be compatible with the Ipad. I have also used FreeCAD (https://www.freecadweb.org/) but it is a bit clunky if you are experienced at all on other 3D modeling programs. If you are just looking to model simple stuff it looks like shapr3d would be decent. $150/yr is a bit steep for just messing around with but not really an outrageous price for a 3D modeling program.
