Hello again from a wantabe, another forum newbie.

I posted a thread titled Will I physically fit: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?39162-Will-i-physically-fit-in-a-type-65

I need to find an owner of a completed GEN 3 Type 65 coupe within a days drive of me who would be willing to let me see just how hard it will be for me to get in and out. I live in the Dallas area. This is the first step to decide if this build is right for me. So please feel free to PM me and we can exchange contact info.

Thanks......

Marc

Hey Marc,
I'd recommend you check out the Texas Cobra Club's spring meet next weekend. I know there are a few coupe owners in the group. They are a bunch of great guys and have always collaborated with the Ohio Cobra club's fundraiser. Their meet is just over a week away and if you reach out to them I'm sure they can connect you with a coupe owner in your area. Check out http://www.texascobrameet.com/

Hey Marc,

Might be a bit far for you to drive but if all else fails you can take a look at mine. its pretty much done, waiting for the drive train from there its off to the painters. I live east of Austin in the Bastrop area.
I agree with Chris and coming down for the cobra meet in San Marcos. Last meet (in the fall) there we no coupes in attendance. Usually there are a few that show up. Doug

Hey Doug,

Thanks for posting. I just got off the phone with a gentleman by the name of Ken, with the meet. He does not have exact car per registered person. Like you said, he mentioned there may or may not be any there. He is passing my name to a few people he says are the north Texas area cobra clubs and will have them touch base. He thinks there is a builder who has assy, at least 2 coupes who lives in Allen just up the road from me. If that does not pan out, I would defiantly run down to do a test fit in yours. I assume the body is on frame? And if we were to hook up, which is best for you, a week day or week end? I am retired now and owe no person my hands for pay! Lol!

I will let you know if I hear from anyone closer. Again thanks..........

Marc

Ya no worries Marc. Can only hope there will be some coupes there. A few years ago Erik and his Hawk Coupe was there. stunning car. As for mine, yes the body is on. I am using the standard low back bucket seats that came with the kit. They are mounted on sliding rails about 2 inches off the floor. For when, we can work that out. Since Covid hit my work schedule is one week on site at work then the following week is from home. Got a few more years to go before i can enjoy retirement. Let me know how it goes with some of the coupe guys. doug

I have a completed coupe with 1,600 miles on it. It has Corbeau seats on the FF5 sliders. I'm in Kingwood /Humble just north of Houston. If you are desperate... let me know. I'm home all the time (Old geezer!).fred
