Newbie here.

I`m from Chapel Hill, NC and about to place my order for a MK4. I`m senior in fabricating and building my own rally race cars and general OFF Road. I lived a long time in South America and even started to build a replica one, but ended up giving up because the quality was miserable.
I have a ton of questions but will dig into the forum before asking them!

See you around!

ADI,

I think you'll be impressed with the MK-4 so here are a few old videos that you may want to check out prior to placing your order:

2012 Speed TV's Speedmakers Ultimate Kit:

Also, check out Edwardb's two MK-4 build threads.
His work and documentation are really phenomenal.

Welcome Aboard!

Thanks guys! I`m looking forward to start.

I already hit my first roadblock on the "list" of options while I tried to order my kit. Overwhelmed to say at least.

First big decision is: Drivetrain! OMG...

I`m a racing guy, so obviously more is better !

Now that I stopped looking for a 2019 Shelby Cobra Mustang as a donor (yeah... I know.. too much... :( ) what should I be looking for?

I still plan to have something "ready", Fuel Injected and ready to drop in the car that still gives me upgrades in the future. Obviously manual transmission!

Suggestions?

Welcome to the group. You don’t need a lot of power. First question is how will you use it? I personally went with upgraded suspension, IRS, and will be going with a mild 351w based 427ci fuel injected with a TKX with .68 5th gear. Wanted push rod engine. No mater what you chose you will be happy. Also depends on your level of driving experience. Wish you the best on your venture.

Well,
Sorry for not sharing any news with the group, but I`m happy to say that it finally arrived!!!! (well, it did arrived a couple of weeks ago, but I was finishing a bathroom renovation and as you know : happy wife is happy life!!!)

So I`m starting my journey officially this coming weekend! - building a chassis cart! (yes, the same wife wants to keep her car inside the garage...)

As I mentioned before, I`m in Chapel Hill, NC if someone is from the area, let`s connect!

Many folks will hang their body from the ceiling of their shops.
Other builders make super tall body bucks that have wheels on them which allows them to scoot the body outside while working on their cars.
Either will work, but hanging the body may give you the space you need without risking damaging the body since you won't be shifting stuff around.

We Look Forward To Seeing You Build Your Dream!
