mounted my reservoir on the firewall forward firewall next to the driver footbox, will run the lines into the side of the footbox
144514

1 to the clutch master inside the box
2 to the vacuum booster on the front side of the box

assuming a 1.5-2" hole in the top side panel, and some type of grommet that can take all 3 but leave it sealed as to not let in engine heat
would need to seal one of the front panel holes
and feed 2 of the supply lines to the vacuum master

would mcmaster have the right parts? unsure what to hunt for as the side panel will be just aluminum sheet with some thermo-tec applied
the front is a bit thicker due to the 1/8th inch steel plus the aluminum sheet

thoughts here?

In that location, will you still be able to access the reservoirs to add fluid, once the body is on?

So you want a grommet that you can pass several lines through. There are some cable/wire pass thru's used on boats that may be suitable for that. They come in varying sizes, many would allow for multiple lines. Bike parts also have a cable grommet, that might work for one, or perhaps two lines.

Just google cable grommets, and there are lots to choose from.

I have those same reservoirs and a firewall forward from FF Metals. I mounted mine in front of the DS foot box.

The firewall is still 5 1/12 inches back from the opening of the hood so they will be tucked under the body. They should have about 6 inches from the caps up to the body so you can get liquid into them. You will be unable to look in them to check levels unless you use a mirror. Bigger issue with that location is the valve cover on the motor. I measured my BP 427 and the clearance would be about 1/4 inch from the valve cover to the reservoir. Seems way too close for me.

yes, it will be a pain to get to but with my vacuum booster there just isn't room to mount the reservoirs without contacting the main unit and going too close to the front of the car...

I found this example on here, the coyote block is shorter front to rear so "plenty" of room

Awesome. Wasn't sure of what motor you were planning to go with.

thanks - well definitely be a pain to check/fill - but hope that won't happen that often :)

Thx Ac Bill!

checking mcmaster, these seem like a customizable fit, probably EPDM would be best for engine bay/fluids...

Look at firewall grommets at Summit. There are big flat circles, ovals etc. I like the one hole one hose thing myself. Seals better and I like it visually.

Why not 3 separate holes and grommets?

Why not 3 separate holes and grommets?

sure anything is possible, just want a cleaner look I guess

I thought about 1 big grommet as well. Mocked it up in cardboard. I thought it looked out of place. Went with smaller ones. Had to consider front harness, clutch cable and footbox cooling. See attached.

If thinking about a single grommet, consider this as an option. I am using them for bulkhead pass throughs for the controls pack harness connectors. They are just barely big enough for the 2nd Gen Coyote harness connectors to pass through. You could drill three holes in it for the lines. I slit mine so that I can get it over the harness. Once installed in the hole, the grommet is held together and the slit is barely detectable. I have a template for the bulkhead cutout if needed.

Interesting pass-thru. Can be installed after the hoses/wires, etc, are in place.
