New to the Forum but a lurker for years. My MK IV is due early June. I have some apprehension regarding wheel & tire sizes. I have ordered 18" wheels and wondering if this was a poor choice. Will I have clearance issues and should I be concerned about ride height? Is 15" or 17" a wiser choice? There are multiple areas of the build that worry me but I want to at least start off on the right foot. I would love to hear thoughts from experienced builders. Thanks in advance!

18's fit fine. No difference between fitment for 17's or 18's regarding clearance or ride height. I've had Roadsters with 17's and 18's and now the Coupe with 18's. The overall tire diameter isn't affected. The difference is mainly in the height of the sidewall. Some say the 18's ride harder. I haven't noticed any difference. If you want to see pictures, from my sig line below: #5125 and #7750 are 17's. #8674 and the Gen 3 Coupe are 18's.

I don't have any experience with 15's. Unless you're really intent on a period correct look, 15's introduce potential issues with brake fitment and mainly very limited tire choices.

Thank you that makes me feel better. Very much appreciated!

The 18's are definitely cooler, more modern, however you may want to research tire availability for the wheels as well as cost of the various combinations. I got caught about a year after buying my tires, my tires were stopped production and I needed to replace [1]!
