Hello everyone -

First off, I hope you all are safe and healthy. Second, my son and I really appreciate all the support and effort you guys put into this forum (special shout out to Paul). It certainly has helped us with our first build.

That said, we are confused about how to use the FFR hardware to connect up cabling to the accelerator pedal. We clipped off the larger end of the wire. But the photos in the assembly manual has too many fingers in the way to see where the white square plastic piece goes, how the ball at the end of the wire interacts with it, how the wire passes through the ball clamp, how the ball clamp attaches to the pedal, and how the set screw holds the wire.

Anybody got a good photo of how those pieces interact with each other sans fingers?

We will be connecting to a small block, not Coyote.

Thanks so much.

P.S. And then at the risk of asking, are we really going to end up regretting not going with the mechanical assembly from Fortes in the end?

You can see what the kit parts look like here:

I recommend upgrading to a Lokar cable that won't come loose while you're out on the road. Here is what the pedal attachment looks like on the Lokar cabe:

Lokar cable I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CONKFQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you do stick with the kit cable, use two set screws in the swivel connector (one on both of the threaded holes) to sandwich the cable and prevent it from popping out.

Regarding the mechanical linkage from Forte, I've heard nothing but good things about that setup. It does take a bit of finesse to get it adjusted so it doesn't act like a light switch, but plenty of threads on it on the forum.

The thing I LOVE about Mike's setup (Combined with Russ Thompson's foot pedal) is that you can set up the pedal with the exact geometry you want. And once installed it is just rock solid:

I added a "Z" bend to the throttle pedal to move it over towards the inner wall to make a bit more room for my big ol' size 16's
