How is the quality of the roadster leather seats? Pics would be awesome and of course your opinion.
I guess my decision is to get the vinyl seats reupholster them or just go the easy route with factory five. Also what’s the sheen on the leather like?

I think the quality is good. Sheen is more of a semi gloss to a satin. Only issue I can see is they could use a bit more foam in the bottom cushion. Can be easily upgraded. I use Armour All leather cleaner/protector and they look good.

okay good info, cancelling the leather seat upgrade and I'll have my upholstery guy do the seats in a good European leather. MANY THANKS!

Consider a good synthetic leather (think MBTech). It comes in uniform sizes as opposed to odd shaped hides, you don't need to worry about imperfections/ brand marks, and is more durable for a topless car that's going to be exposed to the elements. Just my $0.02

I had a good look at mine (but they are bolted in the car so I can't really prove it) and they sure look like 100% leather all around. I guess we'll need someone who can get under and look at all the edges to be 100%.

Not 100% leather. The seating surface and the back are leather but the sides of seat, sides of back as well as behind the seat facing the back passenger compartment are vinyl.

I've got the Big & Tall Leather Seats, but these were prodcued way back in 2015.
I did add plywood to each seat bottom and some additional padding which has made them very comfortable.
The seat quality is good and I have them mounted to seat brackets produced by Breeze Automotive which rocks them back a bit.
You can see them in the attached videos:

I like the seats for their original look and they are comfortable for drives up to an hour, but I have done plenty to make them more comfortable:
Breeze brackets
Thigh support plywood extensions
Seat heaters
Additional padding in seat
Lumbar support bladder in back
I did a 3500 report a while ago and if you skip forward to 8:40 on the video you can see the seats up close.

If you can't tell, how much does it really matter? I get it though, you order leather, you want leather.

Agree! I doubt you will get the vinyl seats recovered for less than the cost of the "pretty good" leather seats from FFR. I figure I'll drive with the leather seats from FFR until they start to fall apart and then have them redone in a much higher quality leather or faux leather and padding for their next life.

The real issue is you have to pay up for leather, but only get about 1/2 leather. Seems a little pricy for what you get. Oh well, who said this was a cheap hobby.

Right! I'm no curmudgeon, but it literally is called a leather seat. :D Agh, oh well, I mean I was happy with them, but this does take the shine off a little ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does FFR make their own seats, or sub them out? Are any colors besides black an option?

You can get them in any color you want as long as it's black. :p Not sure if you can order the 25th anniversary diamond stitched seats yet as a separate option.

Mine were made in England so I assume that they are still outsourcing their seats.

Yep, my big/tall seats were UK-sourced also. Says Genuine Leather twice..

These seats are all leather

Got them from these guys:
https://www.classicandsportseltham.com.au/
As a bonus they come with removable headrests, sliders and they are also crash-tested to Australian design rules. They have a nice tilt back in the seat to prevent submarining. Too tall to work with harnesses I think. (we are not allowed to have harnesses in Australia)
Cheers,
Nigel

The top, tonneau and side curtains are all from Whitby Motorcars (https://www.whitbymotorcars.com/product-category/car-parts/).

The leather seats breathe a little better and help with your back-sweat.
