Hello everyone!
I have lurked for a bit here on the forums, and I figured I would finally come introduce myself. I purchased a MKII Roadster on 31 December 2019. Was my welcome home present to myself after a deployment.

Forgive me, I didn't take many pictures the day of. I had driven 9 hours to see the car overnight. That was a long but very fun experience. Has a 302 5.0L mated with a Tremec 5-speed.
Anyways, after 28 days, one of the wheels came off mid-drive and damaged the body in 3 spots. Needless to say, that was not a fun experience:

After the insurance check came through, I waited until October 2020 for the car to be finished along with a fair amount of brake work (new calipers, new rotors, new pads, new stainless lines) and engine tuning up done.

So October comes around, and the car looks absolutely spectacular. My best friend really does amazing work:

We go on a 50 mile cruise. Everything is going great. So I thank him and head home. Half way home, the fuel injection fails, and the car is not drivable. Back on a tow truck it goes, back to my best friend ...

We determine (as already stated) that something must have failed in the fuel injection system, or that something went sideways with the ECU (anticipated a 1993 Ford 5.0L Foxbody unit). Without the appropriate diagnostic plugs on the wiring harness, we had no way to really read any error codes from the ECU. We decided to carb it. We order all the parts from Summit racing and the carb conversion is done as well as new waterpump, alternator, addition of expansion tank, new thermostat, new fuel pump with internal regulator, new MSD ignition system, new electrical distributor, new plugs and wires as well as distributor and cap. Remove the Vortech V-1 Supercharger and fuel injection system, and finally, February of this year, we are done!

So, I get the car home for about....7 days, and the fan quits on me while cruising in town. Thankfully, I got the car home safely; it's amazing how quickly you can cool the engine going 65mph on a 42 degree day ;). That brings us to present day. I already installed a new Autometer gauge sensor as well as a new Be Cool thermal switch for fan activation at 210 and 190 degrees. Currently, I have a FFR aluminum radiator to put in, as well as a Maradyne M166K fan, and I should receive the fan shroud and lower radiator support bracket from Breeze Automotive later today. I bought the lower hose kit in aluminum from Boig Motorsports, and I piece-milled the upper radiator hose portion with a 90-deg hose, 6" aluminum coupler pipe and a Gates flexible hose about 15.50" long from Speedway Motors - all of those parts should also be here later this week.
Guess this is what it is like owning a hotrod ! As my buddy explained, it'll slow down - it's just the PO nearly NEVER drove the thing, so now we are working all the bugs out.
I don't regret it at all. The lil' bit I have gotten to drive it has been a complete blast, and there is nothing - nothing - like hearing those exhaust pipes going down the road.
We'll get there from here! Anyways, I just wanted to come introduce myself and will soon be living in Dayton, OH due to the military. I REALLY look forward to coming to the London Cobra Show if it stays scheduled for later this year!
