We built a cobra in 2010 (my brothers and dad) and in 2013 my brother basically built one and I was there to help or try. I am going ot try and build one myself with help from others because this is a huge challenge for me and I want to do it. And learn.

If this question seems odd, it probably IS. BEFORE we used a very low mile wrecked mustang gt 4.6 L engine from a

2003 and 2004. Our cobras had powersteering which I believe ran the hydroboost for the power brakes. Now for my future build I want to use a GEN 2 coyote (my second question will be about this) and I was reading about the factory five POWER steering kit that comes with the complete kit. I believe that is the same or pretty much the same as the KRC power steering pump. ANYway....Is it possible and or Can you run stock hydroboost brakes off a KRC/factory five power steering pump? Another way to ask is having a Coyote Gen 2 - power steering seems to be easy being able to get the kit, but what about power brakes.

SECOND question - I was told that with a Gen 2 coyote - if I decide to put on a Boss 302 intake that ALL i would need to do is a TUNE (I am guessing when I get the ford performance control pack) I need to take that all in for a tune for it to run correct. ANY idea on the cost of a tune up? I will probably call Mike Forte for a set up - but not sure if he would be able to do a gen 2 because it is going to have to be an engine from a junk yard (low mileage deal) and I already have my transmission. I would love to pay someone to take the motor, take my tremec 3650 - get it all set up and looking the way I want it and tuned up, etc. Basically because I do not know how and it would feel like I ordered a motor transmission package:) Anyway, I appreciate any and all responses very much. this is month 2 or reading a million threads, learning as much as possible.

I am just about done restoring/cleaning and painting my IRS parts (3k miles on a 3.55 torsen) so cannot wait to get those done...it is probably the easiest part of all of this, but one step at a time.

No reason you couldn't add a hydroboost circuit using the KRC PS pump on a Coyote. Might need to play around with the right size flow valve. But that flexibility is one of the nice things about the KRC system. I assume you know you'll need to modify the Wilwood pedal box as the internal dual MC/balance bar system would no longer be used. Mike Forte does those mods. If you're planning a Wilwood pedal box.

You need the car built, running, and driving to do a tune. Whether a virtual process (like Lund Racing) or an on-site tuning shop. Doesn't really make sense to try to tune unless it's on the street or on a dyno. Lund Racing is in the $1K range these days. Don't know about an on-site shop. Typically going to depend on how long it takes. And yes, a Gen 2 is going to be a used engine since those have been out of production for several years and the crate versions are gone. Unless you get lucky and find one somewhere. Come on over to the Gen 3 side.
