Hi all, I'm fixing to order FFR Lower control arms to replace the fox donor ones, when doing that do I still need to trim the adjustment parts on the UCA to get the alignment I need, this was not done when I built the car.
Thanks
Walt

Theoretically the lower ball joint will end up at the same place and you should not need to make huge adjustments to return to the same alignment settings however I've found that there are so many combinations and variables due to spindles, different vendors for the upper control arms and even different components within the same vendor that a blanket yes or no answer is almost impossible. I'm thinking that you'll probably be OK but...

Hi Jeff, when I changed to epowersteering I've never had it realigned, so I need to do that anyway , they just barely got one side within specs then so I'm wanting to get this all done at the same time.
Thanks
Walt

Usually the UCA rear sleeves need to be shortened to get more caster. Somewhere in the 7-8 range. If you have the steel sleeves it is easiest to just order another pair that is 1/2 inch shorter. Double check the thread size of your sleeves. Most are 3/4 inch but I 'think' there may be some 5/8 out there. Order from Summit. If you have the aluminum ones email me at craigstuard at comcast dot net and I can shorten them in my lathe for $10 to cover return shipping. Put FFR as the subject.

Hi all, I'm fixing to order FFR Lower control arms to replace the fox donor ones....

Are you replacing them because the lower ball joints are worn out? If so, did you know you can buy replacement ball joints for them?
It's a bit of a job removing the old ones, and you need a good press to install the new ones, but there is huge money saving advantages doing that over replacing the entire control arms with new ones. Plus, there is no adjustment, or replacement of the uppers required.

I have the donor LCA from a mustang that was from when I built the car, I am going to upgrade to the ffr LCA , that is about the last donor parts left to change.
