Took the 818 off the high-stands for the first time* in 4 months since pulling the body for prep and paint.
*I did set it down for an alignment and corner-weight...
Went for a nice 125 mile cruise to & up the coast (quite an adventure in itself!) with the wife. Between a proper alignment, a few adjustments, and adding probably 75lbs of Noico and spray undercoating- the car is now a real street car! Drives great, no rattles, creaks, "drums", etc. just plain fun!

I'm loving it. I had been planning on copper for my next car since before I even decided on an 818, but there are so many orange 818s I may follow your lead and go black.

The car looks awesome!
I remember the roads as well. The scenery is spectacular. Biggest issue was the people driving the rental RV's on HWY1 ;-0

That's what it's all about - making great memories! I too had to put in some plexiglass under the roll bar, it's amazing how that area just flows right back into the cabin.

Beautiful!
Is that a racepak digital gauge? Are you liking it?

Thanks for all the kind words.
Black was a bit of a cop-out for me. I flip-flopped on colors so many times over the 4 years I thought about it, that I had to go with what was kind of my lowest common denominator. All the other colors I was close to always had me thinking "not really" at least some of the time. Too flashy, too bland, too stuffy, etc. Not my first black car, and I'm happy with it! *I have a great sample kit of 1ft-sq 3M wrap colors if anyone else is pondering colors... I ended up going with paint, but I'm using wrap for contact/impact areas.
Yes, it's a Racepak dash fron Haltech. I went with a full Elite 2500 system. I like it all, and have had no issues or complaints (more stock I/O would be nice).

Let me know a good time to come down and check it out in person. Almost certain I'm gonna wrap my car, so I'll take the wrap samples off your hands.

Excellent car. Love black and we know it has to be a good paint job when done in black because every little thing shows.

Looks fantastic! I'm going to look for your tips and thoughts for how to execute something similarly high quality.

Perfect weather begs for more dirving so went for a nice blast through the hills on sunday, and have been commuting in it too.
Great co-worker quote;
"on the days you drove it when it was red, I'd pull in and it would say "hey- I'm cool, come check me out!". Today I pulled in and it said "I will scare the sh*t out of you!"".

I lik the black too. It has that menacing Darth Vader look. The one thing that keeps me from painting mine black is the intense summer heat/no air cond. Black just absorbs so much heat.
Looks good!

You need to get up to Redwoods Nat'l Park then take 299 over to Redding. THAT IS A ROAD MADE FOR AN 818H6. Wish I was out there, I'd do it. Look at the Redwoods then look at your car. It is very small. :)

So far, best quote of the year:
"on the days you drove it when it was red, I'd pull in and it would say "hey- I'm cool, come check me out!". Today I pulled in and it said "I will scare the sh*t out of you!"".
