I'm test fitting the bulb weather seal just to make sure it fits.
2 questions.
What did you do in the corners? Cut it and use RTV or just pound it in to make the 90° corners?
Did you buy different (smaller bulb) weather seal? Mine pushes the trunk way up above the body.

I worked mine into the corners with a rubber hammer. Jim

Used the factory five provided seal. Pushed it into the corners with hulk fingers.
Did you trim that lip back there? I rounded my corners there when i trimmed the lip back....142145

I did trim the lip. I’ll beat the corners in more. I could always add some glass to round the corners.
If I can’t the trunk to close down enough I’ll look for some thinner bulb seal. The trunk closes and aligns almost perfect with no bulb seal.

So most of my fit problem with the trunk not matching the body when closed was the seal in the corners, the thickness of the lip varies from 1/8” to 3/8”, and pretty much the same for the part of the trunk that touches the seal. I’ve been sanding for most of the day, it’s getting better.

When I trimmed the lip that the seal attaches to, I radiused the corners instead of 90 degree. Helped a lot but still required a bit of persuasion.
