Since my battery decided to die (red top) and it's going to be getting too cold to drive this week, I decided I needed to go ahead and get around to this electric power steering install.

I've got all the set screws in the pillow blocks removed and the set screw out of the coupler at the rack, but it's fighting me hard coming off. The coupler itself is loose and will slide on the rack shaft, but I can't get the steering shaft to slide or get enough wiggle to get space to get the coupler removed.

Tips? Remove the bearing at the front of the footbox? Watching a basketball game right now, but I'll get back at it later on.

I'm pretty sure bearing at the footbox wall needs to be loosened or removed.

Yep, that was the trick. Going to be grins and giggles trying to get the nuts back on without the easy access to the side of the footbox :D.

Unfortunately, I just now realized that my brake lines, running under the 3/4 frame tube, are in the way of the steering motor bracket. Going to stew on it a while to figure out how to get them to play nice together.
