I just ordered a spare windshield from FFR because I know when I need one there won't be any available. But just saying I am impressed with the service of this order. I ordered it Monday afternoon and it just showed up in my office this morning ( Thursday ) Mass to MD in a little less then three days. Nice job FFR!:)

I ordered side louvers and got them in a few days as well, seems like the Internet orders are being served quickly.

I work as a service director for six Mack and Volvo truck dealerships. I complained about my POL list until I finally got all my parts. Mainly because of the excitement of getting this car and not wanting to slow down once I got started. I do realize how difficult it is to work through supply chains to get parts. We struggle everyday trying to get parts for trucks, and of course customers complain when we can't get them. With the on demand supply chains nowadays where nobody wants to warehouse parts and everything is shipped by demand its no wonder the whole world has slowed to a crawl with not being able to get anything due to Covid. I know the windshield I ordered, I got only because they had it in stock. If they had to order it from Taiwan it would be months. But for now cudos to FFR.

Good deal, you have a windshield you don't need setting in your garage, while the guy with the broken windshield can't find one.

Does anyone know if there are aftermarket windshields still available? My buddy has a Mk 3.1 with the famous corner crack after 6 years. I've seen posts on how to cut and shape them, but that is way past his comfort level (mine too, as I'd be helping).

Did you stock up on toilet paper? That seems more important than a windshield:rolleyes: I remember when Covid hit in our area toilet paper was in short supply... now that was a true crisis.

I don't know why the guy looking for a windshield can't find one. I just went on the website and bought it. Pretty simple to me..I can get TP by the case from our janitorial supplier. And yes TP was almost non existant.

Then why did you buy a spare? They were out of stock for a time, and guys with cracked windshields had to wait.
It's your choice. Why not have a spare engine, transmission and rear end too.

Actually Rich I did order another engine form Blueprint which will sit comfortably in my garage like the windshield and any other spare parts I buy until I need them. If I never use them they will be a great selling feature with the car. When I need them I don't want to wait one two or three months to get replacements. If your waiting that long thats almost a whole driving season. When I want to go I want to go!

Ggunter, spare engine? That makes my extra clutch cable look like amateur hour. You must have plans to drive this thing like you stole it. I applaud your preparedness. Must have been a boy scout

Not a Boy Scout, but when I used to race boats you broke everything all the time so if you didn’t have backups you missed races. I’m not racing anymore but old habits die hard, just like to be prepared if something major breaks. I’m very fortunate at this point in my life to have a great job that allows me to do these things.

As a drag racer of many years, I learned a long time ago the value of maintaining a spare parts inventory. You usually end up with an immediate need for something you never thought you'd break.
